The Open Gardens Festival for Community & Volunteer Green Spaces
What’s on and when?Norwich green spaces maintained by volunteers are open to visitors throughout the weekend of 25th & 26th April 2026. Some are even hosting special free activities. These cover a wide range and include guided walks, planting seeds, and hands-on activities for children.
Where?Over 25 green spaces are taking part all around the city, from woods to verges, from Grade II listed parks to allotments.

Cooper Lane Community Orchard. Sat 25th April 2026. 10am-12pm.
Wild Lakenham will welcome you to Cooper Lane Community Orchard from 10 am to 1pm. Have a go at the art of Hapazome (hammer dyeing), enjoy some refreshments and take a look around our site guided by volunteers.
Cooper Lane Community Orchard from 10 am to 1pm. Have a go at the art of Hapazome (hammer dyeing), enjoy some refreshments and take a look around our site guided by volunteers.The hammer dyeing activity is free of charge and no booking is required. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
The orchard will be open on the Sunday too but Wild Lakenham members will not be there.
